Do I have a hearing loss?
Hearing loss generally happens very gradually, therefore it may take a while to notice; often family or friends will notice first.
There are some common signs that may indicate you have a hearing problem:
- Family or friends complain about the TV volume being high and you may struggle to hear TV programmes, especially where there are accents.
- You find yourself guessing or ‘filling in gaps’ in conversation.
- You need to ask people to repeat themselves.
It is difficult to follow conversation in noisy environments or groups of people.
If you are over 60 years old there is a 50% chance you have a hearing loss.
